THE MILLRY MESSAGE

July 2018

VOLUME 50 NUMBER 7

A MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR:

Happy Birthday America! I am grateful we have people in our past that had vision of what a country should look like in reference to freedoms. I am especially of the freedoms to worship God as we choose instead of force to go to a state-sponsored church. May we NEVER take these freedoms lightly. Men and women continue to fight for our freedoms. Consider them as you gather wherever you do this July 4th. Pray for our military and our leaders.

God really is good. Love Him and praise Him with everything you have. Fall in love with God in a new and fresh way.

Bro. Randy

Wow!  Summer is almost over and boy have things been busy at MBC!  VBS was a huge success. Thank you to all of the volunteers, helpers, and parents.

Your dedication and commitment to VBS was visible. Without each and every single one of you, it would not have been possible. So, again, thank you!!  You all did a wonderful job.

The children will be leaving on July 2nd for Centri-Kid Camp at Shocco Springs. They are super excited and so am I!  Some have been talking about camp since they left last year. Please pray for our safety and protection as we travel. Pray for God’s presence with every encounter during camp as we learn about the blueprint He has for our lives. Have a safe and happy Fourth of July and God bless America.

Love, Rachel

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

In my JESUS ALWAYS devotion book, I was reading about distractions that keep us from spending time with Him.  This book is written as if Jesus is speaking to you.  He says:  "You must fight to carve out time for Me.  Distractions come at you from all sides when you try to sit quietly with Me.  But our intimate connection is worth fighting for, so don't give up!  Set aside uninterrupted time to spend with Me.  Relax in My peaceful Presence, letting your concerns slip away.  Be still, My loved one, and know that I am God."  If we would all only do this, just think what an awesome relationship we would have with Him!

At our W/M Team Meeting we set dates for upcoming events:

July 28                   - Ladies Night Out

    August 8                - MHS Teachers/Staff Luncheon

September 6         - Secret Sister Drawing

September 15       - Festival of Tables Ladies Luncheon

Mark your calendar and make plans to attend.  Details on each event will follow.

Also, I would like to shout out a great big "THANK YOU" to our Food Pantry volunteers in June!

We appreciate so much the "new" ones that helped!  We served 72 families.

Have a great 4th of July!

 Love in Christ, Betty

The Mission

TO BE CONTINUED…..

For those of you who were not able to hear our students testify and share their experiences from camp this past Sunday missed a treat. Our camp theme this year was “The Mission” Our whole week focused on scriptures in Acts and living out our own personal mission that God has called us to. We were reminded that Saul was converted in order to Witness and so are we. We were challenged with these questions and I would like for each of you to honestly ask and answer them within yourselves. 1) Do I feel a sense of urgency to share the truth of the gospel in my everyday life? 2) Have I pronounced unbelievers around me as hopeless? 3) Have I become complacent in my spiritual walk with Christ? I must admit my honest answers revealed my need for more of Christ working in and through me and I am confident that many of you will share my response. I was so humbled that my heavenly Father loves me so much that he can discipline me yet encourage me at the same time. We can become so involved in “Church” that we miss “Relationship”. We become complacent and forget the real “Mission”.  The final day of camp, the students were encouraged to write on their hand – TO BE CONTINUED… This would be the reminder that our mission on this earth is never complete.  Friends and church family let us be on “Mission.” Let us “Continue” like never before to share the hope that is within each of us.

Serving Him, Scott and Jackie Giles
